The Conifer Group, a hedge fund services provider, added four new hires to the company’s New York office.

For the New York prime brokerage unit, the company hired Drew Burggraf as vice president and team leader. Burggraf comes to Conifer from UBS where he was an executive director of prime brokerage services.

For the company’s middle- and back-office services business, Conifer added Jarod Riley as vice president and Kyle Vedder as client services representative. Riley previously served as assistant controller for Protege Partners, while Vedder was an account operations manager at Brown Brothers Harriman.

Additionally, Conifer added Pamela Fong as a shareholder services professional for the New York fund administration division. Prior to joining Conifer, Fong was an investor relations associate for Morgan Stanley’s private equity funds.

“The rapid expansion of our firm comes at an unprecedented time for the hedge fund industry, which has seen its fourth consecutive quarter of growth. In Q2, it reached $2.4 trillion in investments and witnessed the total number of firms top 10,000 for the first time since 2006,” said Jack McDonald, Conifer’s president and CEO. “As positive capital inflows continue to fuel hedge funds of all sizes, we look forward to bringing our proven business expertise and sophisticated technological solutions to a greater share of the space.”
