Bob’s Guide is reporting that Citigroup is to hire an extra 1,000 staff to its base in China during 2007. They are hoping to boost their presence in the region. Citigroup’s Chinese staff levels will rise by a third to 4,000 employees.
They are also looking to create a domestic wing called Citigroup China, with a view to entering the highly regulated Chinese brokering sector.
