Citi has appointed Adrian Nye as regional head of its Agency and Trust business in the Asia Pacific region.
Nye has more than 17 years experience in the securities industry, 13 of which have been in Asia, and the last 10 with Citi. In his new role, Nye will report to Alan Smith, head of issuer services based in New York, and to David Russell, head of Securities and Funds Services Asia Pacific, based in Hong Kong. His primary focus will be on broadening Citis range of corporate trust services available to regional issuers and intermediaries active in the capital markets, M&A, project finance and securitization sectors.
Nye began his career at The Industrial Bank of Japan in London and helped establish their Corporate Trust business. He subsequently held similar positions at Bankers Trust Company, focusing on both corporate trust and the depositary receipts business. Having moved to Hong Kong with Bankers Trust in 1998, he joined Citi in 2001 and moved to Singapore to grow their corporate trust presence in Asia. Nye recently relocated to Hong Kong in April 2010.
The Asia Pacific region is a critically important region for Citi as our clients express an increasing level of need for capital markets services and support regionally and globally, Smith says. In Adrian, we have a very strong business leader with outstanding regional credentials whose strategic insights will enhance our ability to anticipate market opportunities and create value for our clients both in their domestic markets and overseas transactions.
Russell adds: Adrians experience in the Asia Pacific region is notable and extensive, and he is the ideal choice for this role as we seek to serve our clients most effectively. His appointment as Head of the Agency and Trust business is a testament to the importance of the Asia Pacific region to Citis overall business.
