Ecom Atlantic, Inc., an international commodity merchant, has selected SunGard’s AvantGard solution for liquidity management. Ecom will use AvantGard Echos (Ecosystem Communication Hub) globally, in conjunction with AvantGard Treasury, to help improve bank communication and connectivity, streamline treasury management and optimize visibility into cash and investments.

SunGard’s AvantGard Echos will help Ecom improve connectivity to and control over its 46 different banking relationships. AvantGard Echos will provide a single point of connectivity from Ecom’s internal systems to Echos, which offers embedded access to the SWIFT network. This will help Ecom make bank communication more efficient and cost effective. AvantGard Treasury’s automated functionality will help Ecom obtain real-time global consolidated views of treasury and related activities across its regional operations.

Cindy Parrish, treasurer, Ecom Atlantic, Inc., said, “We anticipate that the successful implementation of AvantGard in all countries of the Ecom Group will help us save time and effort. Global visibility will result in a significant return on investment for our shareholders.”

“Corporations today are challenged by process inefficiencies and a lack of standardization in managing bank accounts and connections to their banks,” says Ken Dummitt, president of SunGard’s corporate liquidity business. “AvantGard helps optimize internal processes and fosters connectivity across all participants of the corporate commercial ecosystem including suppliers, buyers, partners, banks and exchange platforms such as SWIFT. For companies like Ecom, this ease of onnectivity helps result in lowered operational and transactional costs, increased transparency of data and improved efficiencies.”
