Tim Collins has been appointed to head up SmartStream’s professional services division for the newly acquired products.
Collins has over 17 years of financial services experience from both the client and vendor side.
For the last 10 years, Collins has worked for Mercator where he was Principal of the professional services division, managing a team of over 60 people. He was responsible for all of Mercator’s professional services relating to the financial services market from a sales and delivery perspective.
“I am delighted to have joined SmartStream at such an exciting time,” says Collins. “I believe that SmartStream’s STP Control Architecture will enable it to succeed where others haven’t. I am already leading a number of large scale implementation projects, which is testament to the success of SmartStream’s vision”
Steve Lewis has been appointed to the position of Sales for SmartStream’s new BPM and Financial Messaging product offering.
He has worked in the financial services industry for over fifteen years. Prior to Capco, Lewis was a custodian banker who held senior responsibility for STP at ABN AMRO, Bank of New York and Deutsche Bank. At Capco, Lewis was responsible for STP, consulting client banks with a particular focus on asset managers.
Before joining Capco Lewis worked in brokerage for ABN AMRO and Deutsche Bank, prior to which, he worked for Wang as a software programmer.
“I am very pleased to have joined SmartStream,” says Lewis. “I believe my in-depth industry knowledge and consultancy experience perfectly place me to advise financial institutions on how they can achieve optimal operational efficiency and control with SmartStream’s products.”
Both positions focus on Northern Europe and report into Mark Cappell, SmartStream’s Regional Director for Northern Europe.
Commenting on the appointments, Mark Cappell added: “We are very excited by the opportunities that our latest acquisition is opening up to us. In order to
succeed
in our mission to become the pre-eminent STP Control Architecture provider, it is essential that we have not only the best technology but also the best industry knowledge in order to apply it. Appointing industry experts such as Tim and Steve is essential to us achieving this.”
