Some of the world’s largest buyout firms, including Permira, KKR and Blackstone, are evaluating a counter-offer for Informa, the UK media group, to rival the 506 p-per-share bid tabled by Providence, Carlyle and Hellman & Friedman.

Any KKR bid is likely to be spearheaded by Hollick, former chief executive of United Business Media and currently a managing director at the private equity giant.

Candover and Cinven are also understood to be also considering a possible move for the business-to-business publisher.
