RBC Capital Markets has hired Colin Bugler to help build its prime brokerage relationships globally and grow its services in the Canadian market. Bugler is a senior banker with years of experience in the prime brokerage and equity finance industries.
“We’re focused on delivering exceptional prime brokerage services in sectors where we have an advantage,” says Harry Samuel, who heads RBC Capital Markets’ global foreign exchange and commodities. “For example, we’re very strong globally in resources, from sales and trading to research to investment banking – so we’re making a real difference to clients who have mining and energy interests. Another strength we have comes from our acquisition of Carlin Financial Group last year and their focus on emerging hedge funds. Our prime brokerage for this sector is widely recognized as a market leader.” Previously Bugler worked for Merrill Lynch and most recently with Bank of Nova Scotia. He will be based in Toronto.
