Fotios Harmantzis has joined as Research Associate at the EDHEC Risk and Asset Management Research Centre.
Harmantzis, who has been an active researcher for over 15 years in the fields of finance, economics and computer science and engineering, is a specialist in alternative investments, and his research interests include investment strategies and investment management.
He is currently a member of the Investment Management Research team at FX-Concepts in New York, an investment firm with USD12 billion in assets. Prior to that he worked for David J. Greene & Company in New York, where he was responsible for the research, development and launch of a Long/Short Market Neutral Hedge Fund for US equities. He has also worked in the Risk Management Group at the Bank of Montreal in Toronto and as a consultant at Etolian Capital Group in New York, a credit/equity hedge fund.
Harmantzis holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto and an MBA in Finance from the University of Toronto/New York University. He has published in several academic journals and is a frequent presenter at academic and industry events.
He has taught at the University of Toronto and the Stevens Institute of Technology in New Jersey.
