BNY Mellon’s Pershing has recruited two new business development directors for Europe, including the former head of sales and relationship management for Societe Generale Securities Services (SGSS).

Andrew Duffin and Helen Oxley join Pershing in London, where they will both be tasked to support its ambitious growth strategy for Europe.

Duffin, who was inducted into the Global Custodian Hall of Fame in 2017, joins Pershing after over 12 years at SGSS where he was responsible for sales and business development across all client segments in the UK and Ireland.

During his 30-year career, he has also served as head of network management, Europe for Deutsche Bank, and head of UK broker-dealer sales at Clearstream.

Meanwhile, Oxley joins from SEI Investments where she was a director and head of solutions for the firms’ wealth management platform, managing solution design across the front- and back-office, digital and regulatory services.

“For institutional market participants, the complexity of the trade lifecycle has changed dramatically in the past few years, pushing banks and broker-dealers to continuously look for better operational efficiency,” said Maarten Heukshorst, chief commercial officer, Pershing. “We are delighted to welcome Andrew and Helen to Pershing who will both be integral to our growth in EMEA as we help support our clients in growing their business.”

Earlier this year, Pershing partnered with software vendor Objectway to offer new front-end services and enhance its clearing and custody offering for wealth management clients.

Over the past three years, Pershing’s assets under custody has also grown by 36%, and its clearing volumes have increased 18%.
