The Bank of New York Mellon has been ranked number one in its category for the second consecutive year in FORTUNE magazine’s 2009 rankings of The World’s Most Admired Companies.

FORTUNE recognized such key points as global competitiveness, quality of products/services, innovation, and long-term investment.

The top rankings of the past two years among Superregional banks follow number one rankings for The Bank of New York in the same category in 2006 and 2007, and a number one ranking for Mellon Financial in its survey category in 2005.
