BNP Paribas Group is contributing more than 600 000 euros to the Tsunami victims support campaign.
In addition to this aid the group will double donations made by staff members in France, the UK, the USA, and various other countries according to arrangements adapted for each country.
BNP Paribas has decided to participate in the Tsunami victims support campaign through an important action at group level, and by offering the possibility to local management to take additional initiatives.
The group headquarters, based in France, will make a 500 000 euros donation to the France Foundation South Asia solidarity program. In addition to this, France- based employees who wish to do so can make a donation to the same program, through the BNP Paribas foundation. The group will double these donations by adding the same amount.
Several implantations of BNP Paribas spread over the world have taken initiatives on a local level, with donations amounting to more than 120,000 euros as well as systems of doubling the donations made by staff members.
Such is the case of BNP Paribas’ implantations in the United Sates of America, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand. In addition, Cetelem, one of BNP Paribas’ subsidiaries, also made donations to associations based in France and Thailand.
