The European Commission hosted discussions about the move to shorten the settlement cycle in Europe last week as, once again, the industry spoke and – hopefully – regulators listened. But it feels like we’re going over the same ground here, writes Virginie O’Shea, founder of Firebrand Research, who strongly believes that rushing the move isn’t going to help settlement efficiency matters.
