Barclays Capital has won two awards in Treasury Management International’s (TMI) 2007 Awards for Innovation and Excellence in Treasury and Risk Management.
Barclays Capital won “Best Bank for Fixed Income – Short-term Products” and “Best Bank for Fixed Income – Long-term Products”.
Each year, TMI awards these honours based on votes from over 100 corporate treasurers, many of whom are members of the Euro-Association of Corporate Treasurers. Barclays Capital has won the Short-term Products award, which covers CP and MTN, six times in the last seven years.
Performance in Short-term Products, CP and MTN in particular, was evaluated in terms of cost of the funds generated, competitiveness of maturity profile, efficiency of settlement operation and integration with the issuers’ systems. The Long-term Products award considered overall performance in Private Placements and bonds, and recognises good knowledge of investor base, timing, pricing and efficient execution.
“These two awards, clearly underline Barclays Capital’s leading position in the debt issuance arena, particularly in Europe and the USA and underline Barclays Capital’s superior understanding of client needs and the current challenges that face the corporate treasurer today,” says TMI Magazine.
