Barclays Capital has appointed Ray Thompson as Director, Information Technology, responsible for financial management and project planning. He will be based in New York and report to PJ Di Giammarino, Director and Information Technology Chief Operating Officer.
Thompson joins the firm from Salomon Smith Barney, where he was most recently First Vice President, Systems, Global Transaction Services.
“Ray’s extensive background in project quality management and managing systems development will be important to the firm as we strategically look at how technology can execute and support the firm’s growing US franchise,” says Kevin O’Reilly, Managing Director, Head of Information Technology and Strategic Planning, on the appointment. “His knowledge will complement our existing initiatives to keep us ahead of the curve.”
Barclays Capital’s recent hires include Nancy Gloor, Managing Director and Head of Fixed Income Technology and CIO, Americas; Dominic Thwaites, Director and Head of Credit Trading Technology; and Fergal Moane, Director, Fixed Income Technology.
