GL TRADE has joined forces with Hewlett Packard (HP) to migrate GL TRADE applications to Linux.

GL TRADE designs and develops solutions for exchange connectivity, real-time multimarket trading, and middle office tools for trading professionals worldwide. The company says Linux has proven to be the key platform that helps its clients build cost-effective IT infrastructures.

GL TRADE’s decision to run their operation on Linux comes also in response to a growing interest and deployment of the operating system within the financial services industry.

“By using the Intel / Linux platform GL TRADE has been able to increase by 800% its performance on some key parts of its solution”, says Vincent Burzynski, Executive Vice President Products, GL TRADE. “Using this winning platform is a small step for IT people but a giant leap for the whole financial industry.”

“Operational efficiency and flexibility is key to the continuing success of any organization, but this is particularly true in the financial services industry, where market conditions are placing huge pressure on even the major players,” adds Anne Ambrose, Director of Brokerage, Trading and Asset Management, Financial Services Industry, HP Services. “HP understands the vital role open source technology is playing in today’s IT environment. With the help of leading partners like GL TRADE, HP provides solutions that allow companies to build always-on infrastructures with an open, stable foundation for the future.”
