BankServ hired Mary Ellen Putnam of Jefferson, Mass., as the company’s vice president and International Business Unit manager.

Putnam, a 20-year veteran of the banking technology industry, comes to BankServ from Stratus Technologies, where she served as director of Corporate Banking Technologies. Putnam aims to “lead BankServ’s efforts to build and strengthen its relationship with institutions using the SWIFT messaging system around the globe.”

Putnam assumes the responsibilities of Jeremy Goddard, former managing director of Symtec Solutions, which created the TurboSWIFT portfolio of software that currently allows BankServ clients to send instant and secure messages over the global SWIFT network. BankServ launched its SWIFT service bureau in early 2005.
