The Bank of New York has appointed Marc Russell-Jones as managing director and head of sales for alternative investment services in Europe.

Based in London, Russell-Jones will report to David Aldrich, managing director and European business manager of the banks alternative investment services division.

Russell-Jones joins from Northern Trust, where he spent two years as vice president for alternative investment sales across Europe. Before that, he had been at the Bank of New York for three years, responsible for sales of hedge fund and exchange traded fund (ETF) services.

“Marcs appointment underlines our commitment to servicing hedge fund managers based throughout Europe and he will play a leading role in advising clients and helping grow our business further,” Aldrich says. “Marcs sales skills and European contacts are a great asset to our expanding alternatives team and because he knows the bank well, he will hit the ground running. Were all looking forward to working with him again.”
