Elind Computers Private Limited, a Bangalore based software applications provider to the securities industry, has announced the appointment of Greg Johnston, currently President and CEO of Elind, Inc. in the US, as President of the parent company and a member of the Board. In his expanded capacity, Johnston will be responsible for the company’s strategic direction, product positioning, sales and marketing initiatives in the US and worldwide growth.

“The demand for Elind’s products and services has fueled its success across the US, Europe and Asia,” says Mangal Shetty, founder and CEO of Elind Computers. “Greg has been a great asset. His depth of experience and knowledge of the US and global markets will enable Elind to continue its momentum. Inducting Greg to the Board aligns a significant North American strategic focus to Elind’s global aspirations.”

Prior to joining Elind, Inc. Johnston was Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Americas and General Manager (US) at OM, the publicly traded Swedish powerhouse in financial and energy software technology. His previous experience also included senior management positions at TCAM and NYFIX. Johnston is joined in the US by

Kevin Moriarty as CFO, Jit Mitra as CIO and Arlon Keegan as Product Manager.

“The combined expertise of the US team and Elind’s strong global focus will enable us to deliver STRIDE, the company’s family of internalization products, to exchanges, brokers and institutions. Cost pressures are driving market participants to match order flow internally and we are uniquely positioned to offer a variety of electronic crossing solutions,” says Johnston. “I am excited about the prospects ahead and pleased to be working with such a dedicated and innovative group of professionals.”

Elind’s products and services and the Stride system are currently used by clients in North America, Europe and Asia. The company aims to develop Stride into the standard for internalization in the US by creating a Managed Service Provision (MSP) to deliver internalization services to the industry and by offering offshore development through its facility in Bangalore, India.
