The Bank of New York says that Axel Dewitte has joined the Brussels Branch as Managing Director of the Corporate Actions department.

Dewitte gained specific experience in custody operations at JPMorgan and BNP in Paris, where he developed the Global Custody Operations centre and implemented a pan-European platform to service centrally European based institutional clients. In 2005, he joined Fortis in Brussels to participate in the implementation of a Benelux securities platform. He has a good knowledge of The Bank of New York, having worked as a custody product manager from 1996 to 1997.

He will report to Paul Bodart, the executive vice-president and head of the Bank’s Brussels office.
