AXA Hires Shade Duffy As Head Of Corporate Governance

AXA Investment Managers (AXA IM) has appointed Shade Duffy as head of Corporate Governance. Based in London, Duffy will report to Jim Stride, managing director, AXA IM UK and Jean-Pierre Hellebuyck, vice chairman, AXA IM Group and chairman AXA IM’s Corporate Governance Committee.

AXA IM believes that high standards of corporate governance contribute to shareholder value, risk management and efficient capital markets. In her new role, Duffy will be responsible for ensuring AXA IM exercises its voting rights at company meetings on an informed basis. Additionally she will liaise with shareholder groups and investee companies on all governance issues relating to AXA IM globally.

She joins AXA IM from Henderson Global Investors, London where she worked as manager, Corporate Governance since 2003. Prior to that, Duffy spent three years as an analyst for the National Association of Pensions Funds Voting Issues Service.
