Asset Control, the investment data integration provider, has introduced a cheaper and simpler version of its data vendor connectivity solution. AC SmartFeed is a what Asset Control calls a “plug-and-work solution for no-hassle loading of data from a single major vendor feed.” It also provides data enrichment, storage and distribution. The company says AC SmartFeed is suitable for data-consuming operations such as risk, trading room, asset management and STP/security master.
Via a pre-built handler for the specific vendor feed, AC SmartFeed first gathers and maintains the vendor data in a “native” vendor model, offering on-line availability of the data as the vendor delivers it. Subsequently, the data is enriched through business rules that detect anomalies and establish logical relations in the data, such as aligning instruments and issuers.
“AC SmartFeed was developed in direct response to industry requests for a technical solution for fast implementation of single vendor feeds,” says Ger Rosenkamp, CEO of Asset Control. “It has been implemented at a customer firm within days. It is a perfect fit for firms that want the solid dependability and scalability of our AC Plus technology, but are currently relying on a single feed for applications like security master files or investment analytics.”
AC SmartFeed can be configured to reflect the data categories in the vendor feed – i.e. time series, reference and corporate actions data. The basic package also includes AC Desktop for browsing, queries and manipulation of the data, as well as the Java API to connect downstream applications.
AC SmartFeed is a special-purpose offering of the same technology as AC Plus, Asset Control’s full-featured data management platform. With modular additions of standard Asset Control components, it can easily be upgraded to a full AC Plus environment, that handles additional vendor feeds and internal data sources, normalization to a common data model aligned to industry standards, consolidation of multiple feeds to “golden copy,” proprietary data modeling and business-rules creation.
AC SmartFeed is also compatible with the entire AC Business Suite, such as AC Contour for risk management. These solutions provide business applications and development environments for data research and analysis. In addition, an optional feed maintenance service is offered to update the interface to reflect extensions or name changes in vendor feeds.
AC SmartFeed is available for Bloomberg Data License, Reuters DataScope Equities, Telekurs VDF, FTID Exbond, FTID Exshare, WM Daten VF1 and ISO 15022 data. Additional feed interfaces which will shortly be available – most before the end of the year – include Thomson Datastream, Reuters Datascope Fixed Income, S&P Cusip DB, Moody’s Ratings Delivery Service and SP ISID+.
