Asset Control and WM Datenservice, a provider of data on German financial instruments, have agreed on the joint development of the VF1 feed interface for Asset Control data management solutions. This automated feed handler will map the VF1 feed in its native German-language vendor format, and will support normalization into the English-based Asset Control cross-vendor data model, aligned with industry data standards such as ISO 15022.

The VF1 interface is scheduled for delivery to an Asset Control customer later this month. At that time, it will become available in an AC SmartFeed solution, the new “no-hassle” data-loading and distribution solution from Asset Control. It will also be available as an optional feed-handling module for AC Plus, the flagship data management platform from Asset Control.

“The development of this interface for WM data is a welcome addition to Asset Control’s menu of pre-built handlers for vendor feeds,” says Ger Rosenkamp, CEO of Asset Control. “The broad availability of German investment data to our customers throughout Europe will advance the overall cause of data standardization, and facilitate the increased flow of data in and out of Germany.”

WM Datenservice is a source of fundamental information about German securities and corporate actions, as well as international holdings. Its role as the source of security identifiers in Germany (ISIN allocation) has also placed WM in the forefront of standardization initiatives. In addition, the firm is actively involved in assisting the German securities industry adapt to the Investment Modernization Law, which is eliminating border-related restrictions and taxation on retail investments.

“This collaboration between WM and Asset Control reflects our shared interest in streamlining data systems and encouraging straight-through processing,” says Georg Eisel, director of WM Datenservice. “Like Asset Control, we have a commitment to helping our customers address data standards, both current and emerging. And by working together, we ensure that our joint customers can access and utilize WM data with the speediest possible implementation.”
