Asia Global Crossing, apparently unaffected by the travails of its largest shareholder Global Crossing, has won the contract to supply Japan Cablenet with high speed Internet services. Asia Global Crossing will be supporting the international IP backbone of the major Japanese cable television operators served by Japan Cablenet.

The shareholders of Japan Cablenet Holdings Limited, which offers regional cable television operators in the Tokyo metropolitan area variety of broadband content and Internet access services, are Fujitsu, Secom, Tokyo Electric Power and Marubeni Corporation.

Japan Cablenet joins a significant number of broadband Internet services providers that use Asia Global Crossing’s IP Transit service as their international IP backbone. Internet service providers such as So-net and BIGLOBE, Usen Corporation, a FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) Internet service provider, as well as @Home Japan Co., a cable network provider, all access the global IP network through Asia Global Crossing’s IP Transit service.
