The Tabb Group says Adam Sussman has joined the firm’s New York office. Formerly with Ameritrade, Inc., where he specialized in order management systems, routing and next-generation trading tools.
Sussman joined Ameritrade in 2002 with its acquisition of Datek Online and worked closely to merge each company’s technologies into a best-of-breed solution. He also developed several strategic initiatives, including a dynamic algorithmic order router, a distributed event notification system and Trade Triggers, which allows clients to set orders in advance to be sent automatically when certain market conditions are met, days or weeks later.
At Datek Online, beyond his primary responsibility for Datek Streamer, which was built on Windows servers and the first real-time streaming market data product available through the Internet. He also ran market-data processing, overseeing their decimalization conversion efforts in 2001.
Sussman earned a BA in philosophy and comparative literature at the University of Rhode Island. His background also includes teaching English as a second language in Changwon, South Korea.
