Former Schroders Group COO, Markus Ruetimann, and Standard Bank’s ex-head of investor services, Mark Kerns have joined the board of digital notary service provider Codel.

Ruetimann and Kerns – both inductees into the GC Hall of Fame – left their respective roles in summer 2016.

They will join former CEO at ANZ, Mike Smith, on the board at Codel.

When leaving his role at Standard Bank last summer, Kerns told Global Custodian at the time: “My desire is to leverage the expertise I have built up over my time in the industry and apply that in the context of non-executive or advisory roles, where strategically I can assist in a variety of ways, particularly client engagement, going back to my earlier point.”

Ruetimann led Schroders’ technology and operations functions for 12 years, before stepping down in June 2016.
