After growing at 45% in the first quarter of 2002, Celent grew at a blistering 74% in the second quarter of 2002, compared with the same period last year. Building on this growth, Celent is expanding into Asia, officially opening its Tokyo office today.

According to Octavio Marenzi, Founder and Managing Director of Celent, “We aim to provide financial institutions in Japan and Asia-Pacific with the same value-added, strategic services we supply to leading banks, brokerages and insurance companies in North America and Europe.”

The office will be headed by Neil Katkov, who was most recently Senior Analyst at Celent’s Boston headquarters. Previously, Mr. Katkov directed corporate communications for Softbank, Inc., the US arm of one of Japan’s leading technology companies.
