Trafalgar Capital, the St James’s based hedge fund manager run by Chris Aarons and Nick Cremin, today announces the appointment of Richard Szwagrzak as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Szwagrzak is expected to build on Trafalgar’s existing risk management infrastructure and systems to provide maximum transparency to investors and to ensure that Trafalgar’s institutional client base receives state of the art reporting.

He will be joining the Trafalgar Capital team next month and will work closely with Sunjiv Mainie, who manages Trafalgar’s flagship fund, the Trafalgar Fund, on a quantitative basis using a multi-factor model.

Commenting on this new appointment, Chris Aarons, Managing Director of Trafalgar Capital said, “Richard brings with him a strong knowledge of valuation and risk measurement methodology in a wide range of products. His prior experience includes having overall responsibility for risk reporting in all areas of trading by his previous employer. His expertise in this area is extensive and we believe Richard’s appointment will enhance overall support and reinforce our leading position in this sector.”

Richard Szwagrzak joins Trafalgar from Mizuho International, where was Head of Risk Methodology and managed a team of quantitative analysts and developers. Previously, he was the Finance Director for Buchanan Partners Limited.

With Szwagrzak on the team, Trafalgar Capital aims to maintain its strong start, with Trafalgar’s flagship product, The Trafalgar Fund, a Pan-European Equity Market Neutral fund, launched in November 2001, now reporting a 10% return after just eight months of trading and without a single losing month.
