BNY Mellon has appointed Fred Bromberg as country executive for Germany and regional executive for German-speaking and Central and Southeastern Europe (CEE & SEE), and Thomas Brand as business executive for Financial Markets and Treasury Services (FM&TS) for the region.
Bromberg joined BNY Mellon in 2010 as a senior executive within the newly formed Strategic Client Group, a role he will retain going forward. Prior to joining BNY Mellon, Bromberg was global head of sales and relationship management for J.P. Morgan’s Treasury and Securities Services business.
Thomas Brand previously held the role now taken over by Bromberg for 11 years. Bromberg will also support BNY Mellon subsidiary Pershing, the global financial business solutions provider, in the region.
Encompassing BNY Mellons Treasury Services, Corporate Trust, Alternative and Broker Dealer Services and Depositary Receipts businesses, FM&TS says German-speaking Europe and CEE & SEE is one of its key future growth areas.
Germany is one of six target global growth markets for BNY Mellon and, following our acquisition of BHF Asset Servicing last year, we are well positioned to further expand our business on a number of different fronts in this key European market over the coming year, says Tim Keaney, chairman of Europe at BNY Mellon. Both Fred and Thomas will be instrumental in driving that growth strategy given the long experience and deep knowledge of German clients needs that they bring to their new roles.
