Yves Baguet, Clearstream’s chief information officer, will depart the company on Oct. 15 2013.
A press release said Baguet, who is also a member of the Executive Board of Clearstream International, and, since February 2013, the chief technology officer (CTO) of Deutsche Börse Group, has decided to leave the company on amicable terms in order to pursue new challenges. Richard Green, currently running one of the application development departments for Clearstream’s core business, will succeed Yves Baguet as CIO of Clearstream, and, ad interim, as CTO of Deutsche Börse Group.
Hauke Stars, Deutsche Börse Group CIO and member of the Executive Board of Deutsche Börse, said: “Yves Baguet decided to leave the company upon reaching another milestone in his career – the first phase of the design of the future IT landscape of Deutsche Börse Group. I would like to thank him for two decades of outstanding contribution to Clearstream and Deutsche Börse Group IT.”
Baguet joined Clearstream from Euroclear in 1994 where he held various management positions in the IT area. In 2000, he became CIO of Clearstream and was in charge of IT development, IT operations, the IT infrastructure and IT sales across all global Clearstream locations. During his tenure the ICSD delivered projects such as the development of the post-trade technology for investment funds and Clearstream’s collateral management solution.
Baguet contributed to and managed major IT projects across Deutsche Börse Group such as the technical integration of Deutsche Börse Clearing (today Clearstream Banking) with Clearstream (at the time Cedel) and the integration of Clearstream into Deutsche Börse Group. He also had responsibility for setting up external IT services at Clearstream, part of a group-wide project at Deutsche Börse to create a Market Data + Services segment that would transform IT from a group support function into a business function where revenues could be made through outsourcing services. Deutsche Börse’s IT business units – comprising Front Office Data + Services, Issuer Data + Services, Back Office Data + Services, COO Data + Services and Venue Services are bundled under Stars.
In an internal message to his colleagues, Baguet said: “I am leaving at a time the company is in really good shape and well prepared for the many challenges that are to come. But after 20 years with Clearstream and Deutsche Börse Group, it is just time for me to take a different direction and pursue other opportunities.”
“Yves Baguet has been the face of Clearstream IT for almost two decades and has been an integrative personality, building bridges between the IT and business worlds. Clearstream will miss his passion and energy to drive developments. We wish him all the best for the future. With Richard Green, Clearstream will have another excellent CIO,” said Clearstream CEO Jeffrey Tessler in an intranet message.
Richard Green joined Clearstream in March 1999 from NatWest Investments where he was a member of the Executive Committee and served as head of Management Services. As part of his current responsibilities as head of Cash Infrastructure and Added Value Applications at Clearstream, Green leads the IT teams for collateral management and investment funds. Green also led Clearstream IT’s response to Deutsche Börse Group-wide initiatives in the field of mergers and acquisitions and efficiency gains.
