Xchanging, the London-based business processing services company, has acquired Ferguson Snell & Associates, a provider of immigration services.

Xchanging says the acquisition will strengthen its HR capabilities, by enabling the company to expand its immigration services to customers across all industry sectors. The company explains that specialist services which enable corporations to hire foreign nationals to live and work in the UK are in demand. The firm also supports individuals who wish to set up business, be self-employed or retire in the UK, helping them to obtain the necessary official documents such as work permits and visas.

Ferguson Snell & Associates was established in 1985, by founding directors Paul Ferguson and John Snell. The majority of its customers are blue chip corporations; in addition to which the company has also provided services to a number of high-profile professional athletes and entertainers. The company was also instrumental in the establishment of the Office of the Immigration Service Commissioner (OISC), the independent public regulatory body. The directors and their team of 15 will continue in their current roles and responsibilities.

“Ferguson Snell & Associates is a strong and profitable business with a great reputation developed over its 21 years,” says David Andrews, Chief Executive Officer of Xchanging. “It’s a very exciting deal for Xchanging, adding further expertise and scope to our range of international HR services to customers. Paul Ferguson and John Snell have created the pre-eminent business in its field, and I am delighted that they have chosen to come together with Xchanging.”

Paul Ferguson and John Snell say they see financial strength, global reach and growth prospects of Xchanging as offering “tremendous opportunities for all of us in the team, and we look forward to working with their new and existing customers.”
