The Warsaw Stock Exchange extended temporary changes made to its transaction settlement schedule through May 31, and more changes may come in early June.

Facing high volumes of transactions and resulting trade suspensions, the NDS began skipping the regular settlement session it usually held at 1:00 p.m., forcing it to process during only two batch sessions instead of three.

The NDS reduced the number of processing sessions with the hopes of ensuring cash settlement deadlines were met at the National Bank of Poland.

If it continues to receive high volumes of activity and is forced to continue suspending transactions, the NDS may carry the changes over into June.

The WSE will announce any new changes once going over trading data and gauging information gathered at trading sessions during the next few days.
