The Managing Board of ABN AMRO confirms it has received positive advice from the Dutch Central Works Council and the opinion of the European Staff Council regarding the proposed merger with Barclays.
The European Staff Council was asked to provide an opinion on the proposed merger with Barclays in so far as it will impact upon activities in Europe. The opinion of the European Staff Council is also positive.
The Managing Board of ABN Amro says it will take their advice and opinion into consideration during its deliberations.
Earlier, agreement was reached with the trade unions regarding measures to address the impact upon staff of the proposed merger with Barclays.
