Radianz claimed today that Winterflood’s selection of the company for FIX connectivity makes its shared market infrastructure the largest platform that can support FIX on a global scale.

Radianz says it connects nearly 10,000 financial services sites around the world on shared infrastructure that enables participants including Winterflood to submit indications of interest (IOIs), route orders, execute trades, and perform other FIX-based transactions. The addition of Winterflood means that Radianz has reached the milestone of 1,000 unique client sites leveraging the FIX protocol.

Winterflood said Radianz will enable it to more quickly and efficiently implement its international expansion plans because Radianz provides a single connection to the financial services sites worldwide that want to use its services. Winterflood also was influenced by Radianz’s ability to support the FIX protocol around the world.

“Using Radianz will help free us from having to build and manage our own network with separate connections to each one of our customers,” says Mike Hines CEO of Winterflood.” A resilient connection to Radianz to distribute our services to financial sites that we are targeting and consolidating our connectivity into a one-to-many configuration means we will be able to reach our counter parties more efficiently and roll out our international expansion plans in less time.”

Jim Leman, a founding member of the original FIX committee and current co-chairman of the FIX Protocol Ltd. Business Practices Subcommittee in the Americas, added that “brokers’ customers have trading desks around the world that interact with different markets. Using shared infrastructure helps ensure everyone receives consistent levels of service and connectivity that is designed to meet the needs of the financial industry on a global scale. Institutions also can use their connectivity to platforms like Radianz’s for more efficient access to financial applications across the straight-through processing (STP) chain.”

In conjunction with today’s announcement, Winterflood also said it will use Radianz as part of its disaster-recovery program since Radianz’s infrastructure is fully meshed and designed to remain operational during unforeseen events.
