Wilco International, a subsidiary of Automatic Data Processing, Inc (NYSE: ADP), has appointed Patrick Sockett as General Manager responsible for Wilco’s recently announced joint venture with Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing Limited (HKEx).

The joint venture was formed to provide securities markets transaction processing services on an outsourcing basis from Hong Kong. As such, Sockett will be based in Hong Kong where he will report to Jessie Pak, Managing Director of Wilco International in Asia Pacific.

Sockett has overall responsibility for establishing and running the service bureau for the Hong Kong and Asian region. His responsibilities will focus initially on the set-up of the service bureau infrastructure in readiness for the first client user, and subsequently for developing all aspects of service as the operation expands.

He has considerable experience of securities operations processing across the Asian markets combined with an outstanding level technical knowledge, and I am confident that he will provide strong leadership for our new outsourcing joint venture,” said Jessie Pak.

Prior to commencing his new role, Sockett was Head of Client Delivery for two years for Wilco in Tokyo, Japan. He also gained experience in Asia Pacific working for Wilco in Hong Kong in 1995 as Regional Technical Advisor.

Sockett was also instrumental in establishing Wilco’s European Business Technology Group in which he held a senior management position. He joined Wilco in 1992 as a Bachelor of Computer Science graduate.
