Geneva-based private bank Pictet & Cie today replaced Morag McLure with Pierre-Alain Wavre as head of the Family Office team. McLure, who headed up the initial launch of the operation in 1999, has decided to leave the bank to pursue other interests.

Wavre, 44, joined Pictet in 1986 as a portfolio manager after several years working for Robert Fleming & Co in Japan and South-East Asia as an institutional

adviser focusing on Asian markets. Within Pictet, he initially handled Japanese institutional clients and oversaw several foundations and products developed by Pictet for individual pension schemes. Over the past seven years, in addition to working with very high net worth individuals and in private client development, Wavre has acquired particular expertise in alternative investments, especially private equity.

“Since the launch of the Pictet Family Office in 1998, we have established ourselves as clear leaders in this field within Continental Europe,” says Jean-Francois Demole, the partner in charge of this activity within Pictet. “Pierre-Alain Wavre brings strong hands-on experience of the asset management needs of very high net-worth families.”

A senior manager at Pictet & Cie since 1997, Wavre holds two bachelor’s degrees in Economics from the University of Geneva (economic history and economics and politics).
