Watson Wyatt has recruited Paul Herbert from Hewitt Associates to its Defined Contribution (DC) team, which brings the number of new associates hired into its Investment business since August to 27. These associates, which include a number of new graduates, have joined the client consulting, investment strategy, manager research and client reporting teams.

“High demand for our independent services and a number of new client wins, particularly those opting for implemented consulting, mean we have had to add resources across the board and at all levels,” says Paul Trickett, European head of investment consulting at Watson Wyatt.

Paul Herbert, who has 12 years experience – mostly with Hewitt, joined as a senior investment consultant in November and will be responsible for advising pension funds on the various aspects of their DC investment strategies. During the past six months the firm has been advising its clients on how to improve the DC investment proposition based on research on a range of topics including: Managing risk around retirement; Investment Governance: enhancing the value chain; Journey planning – a more engaging approach; and Lifecycle strategies.

“We are delighted that Paul has joined our dedicated DC team, which is probably one of the largest and busiest in the industry, says Paul Trickett. He should find it rewarding and challenging as we work with pension funds, the asset management community and insurance companies to improve the lot of DC savers.”
