Wachovia Corporate and Institutional Trust announced that it has hired Dama Stephenson as managing director of sales for Institutional Trust. Stephenson will be based in Atlanta.

“Dama’s extensive experience in the industry and in-depth knowledge of institutional custody make her an excellent addition to our sales force,” said Jim Link, sales manager.

“Wachovia’s superior platform and strength in the business made it easy for me to make the decision to join their team,” said Stephenson. “I’m excited about being a part of this group.”

Stephenson joined Wachovia from State Street, where she was vice president of Southeastern Regional Sales. Previously, she was a relationship manager at Commerce Bancshares. Stephenson also was an assistant vice president of trade services at Corestates Financial Corp. She has a B.A. from Howard University and an M.B.A. from George Washington University.
