Visual Trader, a BME company and service and access provider to international markets, selected IBM to upgrade its electronic platform, the company announced last week.

The company said the upgrades will increase its speed of price reception and key trading advantages for their major banking and national and international brokerage clients.

The new platform is based on IBM Blade servers, which use Linux operating systems. It is designed to be faster, more flexible and more open for users.

During the first stage of the project, a system was implemented for the reception, in real time, of stock prices in 12 major financial markets worldwide. The second stage concluded with the start of the Visual Traders fully developed FIX engine on IBM-Linux. During the third and last stage, which is to be carried out in the coming months, the order routing systems for all national and international equities will be incorporated into the new platform.
