Global fund administrator Vistra has hired a senior private equity expert from State Street to run its North America alternative investments division.

Scott Kraemer joins, with immediate effect, where he will be responsible for the development and strategy of the alternative investment strategy for the region, which includes oversight of operations, key account management, strategic partnerships and resource allocation.

Kraemer will report to Onno Bouwmeister, Vistra Group’s managing director of alternative investments.

“North America is an important region for Vistra and we are pleased to have Scott on board to strengthen our alternative investment leadership team. His expertise and strong track record in the region will enable us to capturing further business opportunities,” said Bouwmeister.

Kraemer joins from State Street where he was a senior vice president within the private equity funds team. During his time at the Boston-based custodian, he oversaw all accounting functions for private equity clients.

He also held senior roles during his 10 years at JP Morgan, including an integrations manager for JP Morgan’s private equity funds services, and chief information officer for JP Morgan Partners, its private equity division.
