Exchange-traded funds (ETFs) can now be bought and sold on the Vienna Stock Exchange, in the Xetra trading system.

Price discovery for ETFs is done according to the same matching rules that apply to shares. Trading is continuous during an entire trading day from 9:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (with opening and closing auction).

Market makers are responsible for ensuring sufficient liquidity. At least one market maker enters binding buy and sell orders (quotes) into the electronic order book throughout the entire trading day. In the market segment exchange traded funds, market makers continuously enter buy and sell orders with a value of at least EUR 30,000 and a maximum spread of 3% into the electronic order book.

VSE expects a traded volume for the coming year of EUR 500 million.
