UniCredit has hired John Gubert, the former head of HSBC Securities Services, as external advisor to UniCredits Global Securities Services division.
Gubert will be supporting Attila Szalay-Berzeviczy, global head of securities services,

2009 saw a volatile year for UniCredits securities services personnel. In March, Michael Aschauer, global head of custody, and David Penstone, global head of sales & business development, left UniCredit to head up Deutsche Banks domestic custody business in Eastern Europe.
UniCredit moved quickly, appointing Szalay-Berzeviczy as Aschauer’s replacement, and Gnter Schnaitt as head of custody in Austria.
Gubert was also a past board member of Euroclear SA/NV, the International Securities Services Association and the London Clearing House. He is currently Chairman of the International Securities Markets Advisory Group
