The Monetary Board of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) has raised its key interest rate by 0.5 points to 15,75% in light of the recent increase of inflationary pressures.

The Monetary Board underlined that the current extent of monetary policys restrictiveness is not sufficient to contain this years rate of inflation within the projected levels, which is planned between 3% and 6%.

NBS representatives also said that they will continue to monitor economic developments, while the degree of monetary policys restrictiveness will be determined in line with the fulfillment of the targeted levels of core

inflation for the current, as well as for the next year.
