It has been reported that the number of Americans filing applications for unemployment benefits increased in December by 10,000 to 329,000, according to Labor Department findings.
Claims for the previous week were revised to 319,000 compared with the 317,000, the previous figure. The four-week moving average for new claims rose from 1,250 to 317,500, which was higher than previous weeks.
