Ukraine Central Bank Governor Resigns

During a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine in Kiev today, the Ukrainian Central Bank Governor Serhiy Tihipko announced his resignation from his position as Governor of the Ukrainian Central Bank. Serhiy Tihipko also headed the election headquarters of the designated Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych. Since the start of the presidential election campaign, Tihipko has been released from his Central Bank duties, which – during this period – were performed by the acting chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine, Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
