UK custody veteran Peter Shepherd retires

The former face of CIBC's UK custody business has retired after a 37 year career in securities services.

Peter Shepherd, the former UK face for CIBC’s UK custody business, has retired, Global Custodian understands.

Shepherd is a veteran of the securities services industry, with a career spanning over 37 years across the Canadian, UK and European custody market.

He previously served as a managing director and led CIBC’s London business for 16 years, before joining ABN Amro in 1996 as a senior relationship manager. After two years, he joined Fidelity International within the asset manager’s custodian relationship management unit.  

Shepherd is also the co-founder of the Williams network management event with Paul Chapman, the former London head of investor services for Brown Brothers Harriman.  

A spokesperson for Fidelity International could not be reached for comment at the time of print, however Shepherd confirmed his departure to Global Custodian.
