UK Government net reserves rose by $231 million in April 2005, bringing the end-April total to $18,841 million (9,864 million) compared with $18,609million (9,844 million) at end-March 2005.

Also on the rise were the Bank of England’s net holdings of foreign currency and gold, which rose by $2 million in April 2005, bringing the end-April total to $112 million (59million) compared with $110 million (58 million) at end-March 2005.
