UBS has hired John Straus as Head of Private Wealth Management, the group within UBS Wealth Management US that serves the firm’s clients in the United States. Straus will be responsible for the strategic direction and management of the Private Wealth Management Group.
Straus reports to Marten Hoekstra, the Head of UBS Wealth Management US.
“As the wealth management marketplace grows increasingly sophisticated, today’s ultra-high-net-worth clients need both a state-of-the-art offering as well as wealth advisors who take the time to listen and understand the clients’ unique needs,” says Hoekstra. “With extensive experience in this field, John Straus will lead UBS’ US efforts to deliver a consistent approach that leverages the global resources of UBS for this important client segment.”
Most recently, Straus served as MD and Head of US Private Banks at J.P. Morgan Chase. Prior to his position there, he held various senior management positions at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter & Co., including Head of US Private Wealth Management.
