Ian Werner has joined Turquoise’s senior management team as head of Legal and Compliance.
Until last autumn Werner was the manager of the Compliance and Investigations team at the London Stock Exchange (LSE) where he had responsibility for implementing the Rules of the LSE, investigating Rule breaches and enforcing the disciplinary process.
More recently he has been providing guidance to the Financial Services Authority on their surveillance system, similar to the one recently announced by Turquoise.
“Turquoise has a duty to operate an orderly market and Ians proven abilities and experience will ensure we comply fully with our responsibilities to the market place,” says Eli Lederman, CEO, Turquoise.

Werner, who is 39 and a British citizen, trained as a lawyer in his native South Africa.
