USA ePay, e-commerce payment gateway provider, has selected Trustwave to validate compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).

Trustwave is the provider of on-demand data security and payment card industry compliance management tools to businesses and organizations throughout the world.

PCI DSS is the payment card industry security requirement for entities that store, process or transmit cardholder data, and has been endorsed by all the major card brands Visa Inc., MasterCard Worldwide, Discover Network, American Express and JCB. Under the PCI DSS, payment service provider compliance requirements are segmented into three levels based on the number of transactions processed and/or transmitted annually.

To validate compliance with the PCI DSS, USA ePay engaged Trustwave to demonstrate compliance with the 12 security requirements of the credit card brands, submitting to a rigorous review of its IT environment and information security policies and procedures. USA ePay also enrolled in Trustwaves TrustKeeper – an on-demand compliance management program that supports on-going compliance including the required quarterly network vulnerability scans.

As hackers become more sophisticated, its more important than ever to review our entire payment environment to ensure that the sensitive data of our merchants, partners and banks is protected, says Ben Goretsky, CEO, ePay, USA. We owe our success to the security of our payment gateway and Trustwaves expertise and proprietary technology that has always played a key role in our security.

USA ePay continues to adhere to an industry standard that helps protect the personally identifiable information of their customers, says Robert J. McCullen, chairman and CEO, Trustwave. Weve seen the payment landscape evolve significantly since our first engagement with them, proving the utility of yearly validation and continual point-in-time compliance with the PCI DSS.
