Despite the current turbulence in global financial markets, the Institutional Money Market Funds Association (IMMFA) says that the asset composition and track-record of ‘treasury-style’ money market funds offered by its members will continue to make them a valuable component of a treasury manager’s portfolio.

Investing only in high-quality, short-term money market instruments – as evidenced by their triple-A rating awards from one or more of the independent credit rating agencies – they are also structured in such a way that they have a low susceptibility to market interest risk volatility and can provide same or next day liquidity to investors.

“In times of market turbulence IMMFA’s money market funds offer investors a transparent investment option with strong liquidity and a high level of capital security,” says Donald Aiken, Chairman of IMMFA.
